The MIL-DTL-38999 Series III is a high-performance cylindrical connector designed for general purpose and severe environment applications. It features a robust "one-turn" self-locking acme thread coupling system for enhanced durability and strength, with blunted threads to prevent cross-threading. Elongated mounting holes allow for intermounting with existing Mil-spec flange mounted receptacles. Available in various shell sizes, insert arrangements, and contact types including M39029 contacts (sizes 22D, 20, 16, 12, 10 power, and 8 twinax). Offers features like metal-to-metal bottoming, elimination of lockwiring, firewall capability, scoop-proof design, closed-entry socket inserts, interfacial pin insert seals, and elastomer wire sealing grommets for superior environmental sealing and contact protection.
