Ensulizole (PBSA) is a water-soluble sunscreen ingredient and a sulfonated UV absorber that can strongly absorb UVB and partially absorb UVA. Under ultraviolet or sunlight exposure, it can produce reactive oxygen species (ROS), which in turn can damage DNA.
