Description :
Polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) is a non-ionic polymer compound. PVP is classified into four grades based on its average molecular weight, commonly denoted by the K value. Different K values correspond to specific ranges of PVP's average molecular weight. The K value essentially represents a characteristic parameter related to the relative viscosity of PVP aqueous solutions. Since viscosity is a physical property associated with polymer molecular weight, the K value serves as an indicator of PVP's average molecular weight. Generally, higher K values correlate with greater viscosity and stronger adhesion. PVP exhibits hygroscopic properties and dissolves in water.
PVP has a broad prospect in the daily chemical industry, especially in cosmetics, skin care products, hair care products and cleaning products, because of its excellent surface activity, film formation and no irritation and allergic reaction to skin.
