The operation is a simple yet clever two-stroke process:
1. The Downstroke (Dispensing):
When you press the actuator down, it pushes the piston into the chamber.
This increases pressure inside the chamber.
The pressure forces the ball valve to seal the entrance from the dip tube.
The only exit is through the actuator nozzle, so the product is forced out and dispensed.
2. The Upstroke (Priming):
When you release the actuator, the spring pushes it back to its original position.
This retracts the piston, creating a vacuum (low pressure) inside the chamber.
This vacuum unseats the ball valve, opening the passage from the dip tube.
The higher atmospheric pressure in the bottle pushes the product up the dip tube and into the now-empty chamber, ready for the next pump.
This cycle repeats with every press.
