Common tooth shapes for alloy saw blades include left and right teeth (alternate teeth), flat teeth, ladder flat teeth (high and low teeth), inverted trapezoid teeth (inverted conical teeth), dovetail teeth (hump teeth), and rare industrial-grade three-left-one-right and left-right flat teeth.

1. Left and right teeth are widely used, with fast cutting speed and relatively simple grinding. They are suitable for cutting and cross sawing all kinds of soft and hard solid wood profiles, density board, multilayer board, particleboard, and more. Left and right teeth with anti-rebound protection teeth are dovetail teeth, suitable for longitudinal cutting of various boards with tree joints. Left and right tooth saw blades with a negative front angle are usually used for panel sawing because of their sharp edge and good sawing quality.
2. Flat tooth saw mouths are rough, with slow cutting speed and the simplest grinding. They are mainly used for ordinary wood sawing at low cost. They are mostly used for aluminum saw blades with small diameters to reduce adhesion during cutting, or for slotting saw blades to keep the groove bottom flat.
3. Ladder flat tooth is a combination of trapezoid tooth and flat tooth. Grinding is more complex, and it can reduce veneer cracking when sawing. It is suitable for sawing all kinds of single and double veneer wood-based boards and fire boards. To prevent adhesion, aluminum saw blades with more teeth also use this profile.
4. Inverted ladder teeth are often used in the slot saw blade for cutting board saw bottoms. When cutting wood-based boards with double veneer, the slot saw adjusts the thickness to finish grooving the bottom, and then the main saw completes the cutting of the plate to prevent edge collapse.

To summarize: for sawing solid wood, particleboard, and dense board, choose left and right teeth to sharply cut wood fiber tissue for a smooth incision. To keep the groove bottom flat, use a flat tooth profile or a left-right flat combination tooth. For sawing stick panels and fire boards, generally choose ladder flat teeth. Computer cutting saws, due to their sawing rate, use alloy saw blades with relatively large diameters and thicknesses — approximately 350–450 mm in diameter and 4.0–4.8 mm in thickness — mostly with ladder flat teeth to reduce edge collapse and saw marks.
