PM oil bearing is a porous alloy product with lubricating oil in the pores. When the shaft stops rotating, the oil will return to the inside of the bearing, which is the so-called self-lubricating oil bearing. Therefore, the consumption of lubricating oil is small, and it can be used for a long time without external supply of lubricating oil. It is very suitable for the occasion of difficult oil supply and avoiding lubricating oil pollution. Compared with the general cast metal alloy bearing, the oil bearing does not need oil supply mechanism, and the design can be very simple. In addition, the tiny pores of the inner sliding surface of the oil bearing will cause "oil pressure leakage", thus affecting its load and increasing the friction coefficient. As the users gradually understand the characteristics of oil-bearing, develop its advantages and avoid its disadvantages, PM oil-bearing is gradually widely used.

Although it is possible to form a complete oil film in oil bearing, in most cases, this kind of bearing is in the mixed friction state of incomplete oil film.
