CTS high-frequency 1350W smart battery charger is a compact and reliable charging solution designed for 48V, 60V and 72V battery systems. It supports lead-acid, sealed gel lead-acid and lithium batteries, making it suitable for a wide range of electric mobility and industrial applications. Designed with a wide AC input range of 90–264VAC, active power factor correction (APFC), high-efficiency soft-switching technology and a fully sealed potting structure, the charger delivers stable charging performance in demanding operating environments. The charger can be configured for different battery voltage and charging requirements. For lithium battery applications, charging can be controlled through predefined charging curves or managed by the battery management system (BMS) through CAN communication.

It is suitable for electric motorcycles, passenger vehicles, sightseeing vehicles, patrol vehicles, forklifts and other battery-powered equipment requiring reliable cyclic or float charging.

Wide Input Voltage Range

The charger supports a wide AC input range of 90–264VAC, allowing stable operation under different grid voltage conditions and making it suitable for various international markets.

High Power Factor with APFC

An active power factor correction system provides a power factor of ≥0.98, helping reduce input-side power losses and improve overall power utilization.

Sealed Potting Design with IP65 Protection

The internal electronics are fully sealed using thermally conductive silicone potting technology. The design provides IP65 protection, improved vibration resistance and enhanced thermal performance for long-term operation.

High-Efficiency Charging Technology

Soft-switching technology reduces switching losses in power components and improves overall charging efficiency, helping reduce energy consumption during operation.

Designed for Harsh Operating Conditions

The charger is designed for a wide operating temperature range of -30°C to +65°C. Its sealed structure and reinforced isolation design provide resistance against dust, moisture, vibration and acid mist.

Smart Charging and CAN Communication

For lithium batteries with CAN communication, charging can be controlled by the BMS according to the communication protocol. For lithium batteries without CAN communication and lead-acid batteries, charging is controlled according to the corresponding charging curve.

Multiple Protection Functions

The charger incorporates short-circuit protection, over-current protection and temperature protection. When the internal temperature becomes excessive, charging current is automatically reduced. If battery temperature exceeds 60°C, charging stops and automatically resumes when the temperature returns to a suitable level.

Battery Compatibility

This smart battery charger is designed to support different battery technologies:

Lead-Acid Batteries
Suitable for conventional lead-acid battery charging with controlled charging curves and float charging capability.

Sealed Gel Lead-Acid Batteries
The charger can be configured for sealed gel battery systems used in electric vehicles and industrial equipment.

Lithium Batteries
Supports lithium battery charging through predefined charging curves. For battery systems equipped with CAN communication, the BMS can control the charging strategy through CAN communication.

Intelligent Charging Strategy

The charger provides different charging strategies according to the battery type and communication configuration.

For lead-acid and lithium batteries without CAN communication, the charging process follows the corresponding preset charging curve.

For lithium battery systems equipped with CAN communication, the charger can exchange information with the BMS, allowing the BMS to control the charging strategy according to the battery condition.

This architecture makes the charger suitable for battery systems requiring more intelligent charging management.

Protection and Safety
  • Short-Circuit Protection: The charger automatically shuts down the output when an output short circuit occurs. Charging can resume after the fault is cleared and the battery is reconnected.
  • Over-Current Protection: Output current is controlled to prevent abnormal over-current charging caused by changes in grid voltage or operating conditions.
  • Temperature Protection: Charging current is automatically reduced when the internal temperature becomes excessive.
  • Battery Temperature Protection: Charging stops when battery temperature exceeds 60°C and automatically resumes after the temperature returns to an acceptable range.
  • LED Status Indication: LED indicators provide charging-status and fault information for convenient operation and troubleshooting.
  • Isolation Design: Reinforced isolation is incorporated between the electrical sections to improve operational safety.
Reliability and Environmental Performance

The charger has undergone a series of reliability tests covering electrical insulation, dielectric withstand, high-temperature aging, low-voltage aging, high-voltage aging, vibration and drop testing.

The insulation resistance between input and output is specified at not less than 50MΩ under a 1000V megohmmeter test for 60 seconds.

The product also undergoes full-load aging tests and temperature-related reliability testing to verify stable operation under different electrical and environmental conditions.
