1.Product Description
Copper nickel pipe is an advanced corrosion-resistant alloy tube manufactured from high-purity electrolytic copper and nickel, with iron and manganese added as strengthening elements. It is produced through vacuum melting, hot extrusion/piercing, multi-pass cold rolling (or drawing), and bright annealing. Main grades are 90/10 CuNi (UNS C70600) and 70/30 CuNi (UNS C71500). Products are supplied in full compliance with ASTM B466/ASME SB466 (seamless) and ASTM B467/ASME SB467 (welded). Certification by major classification societies (DNV, ABS, LR, etc.) is also available upon request.
2.Product Applications
Shipbuilding: Seawater cooling systems for main/auxiliary engines, central coolers, fire mains, ballast and bilge piping.
Offshore Engineering: Seawater risers, heat exchangers, and process tracer lines on drilling platforms and FPSOs.
Power & Desalination: Steam turbine condensers, nuclear power secondary cooling systems, MSF/MED evaporator tube bundles.
Petrochemical & Chlor-alkali: Chloride-resistant heat exchangers, brine and chemical transfer lines.
Advanced Equipment: Precision hydraulic circuits, steering gear and brake piping systems.
3 . Product Advantages
Life-cycle economy: Ultra-low corrosion rates drastically reduce maintenance and tube replacement, offering lower overall costs compared to stainless steel and titanium.
Biofouling resistance: Slow release of copper ions forms a biocidal surface layer, ensuring long-term flow efficiency without periodic cleaning.
Superior formability: Supplied in annealed (O) or stress-relieved condition, allowing direct 90° cold bending and flaring without intermediate annealing, saving fabrication time.
Reliable welded joints: When welded with matching filler metal, the weld zone achieves corrosion resistance equal to the base metal – no post-weld solution treatment required.
Weight saving: About 50% lighter than carbon steel with adequate strength, enabling smaller support structures and lighter overall system weight.
