1.Product Description
The Copper Nickel Elbow is a seamless wrought fitting manufactured from dual‑phase copper‑nickel alloys with controlled iron and manganese additions. The material offers a single‑phase α‑solid solution structure after solution annealing, providing excellent metallurgical stability. Products are available in two primary alloy compositions: 90/10 (UNS C70600) and 70/30 (UNS C71500), with the latter offering higher nickel content for enhanced resistance in high‑velocity, high‑temperature seawater conditions. Manufacturing routes include hot extrusion, induction bending, and cold pushing, followed by full solution heat treatment and pickling.
2.Product Applications
This fitting is specified for critical fluid systems where chloride‑induced corrosion and erosion are primary failure mechanisms. Typical system integrations include:
Seawater cooling loops for main engines and auxiliary equipment
Firemain and sprinkler systems aboard naval and commercial vessels
Heat exchanger interconnecting piping in LNG and power generation facilities
High‑salinity brine transfer lines in zero‑liquid‑discharge (ZLD) plants
Subsea umbilical and flowline components for oil & gas extraction
Ballast water treatment (BWT) system piping subject to IMO D‑2 standards

Erosion‑corrosion resistance – Critical flow velocity threshold > 4.5 m/s for C70600 and > 6 m/s for C71500 in clean seawater.

Fabrication friendly – Cold bendable without cracking (minimum bend radius 2.5D for cold forming); weld joint efficiency ≥ 90% of base metal.
