1. Product Description

 

The Copper Nickel Reducing Tee is a specialized pipe fitting manufactured from CuNi alloys (90/10 and 70/30 grades), designed to connect a larger-diameter main pipeline to two smaller-diameter branch lines in a single compact unit. Its "reducing" geometry means the branch outlets are deliberately sized smaller than the run pipe, eliminating the need for separate reducers at branch points.

 

Design highlights:

Integral forged/formed construction – no welded seams within the body, ensuring structural integrity.

Precise dimensional control – branch-to-run diameter ratios are customizable per customer requirements (standard ratios: 1/2, 2/3, 3/4, etc.).

End finishing – beveled ends per ASME B16.25 for BW types; square-cut with chamfer for SW types; NPT threads for threaded types.

Surface finish – pickled and passivated to remove surface oxides and enhance corrosion resistance.

2.Product Applications

This fitting is engineered for mission-critical piping systems where reliability under corrosive and high-flow conditions is non-negotiable:

  • Shipboard seawater systems – main engine cooling, auxiliary cooling, fire main, deck wash, and sanitary seawater supplies.

  • Offshore oil & gas platforms – topside seawater lift pumps, firewater ring mains, and process cooling loops.

  • Coastal desalination plants – reverse osmosis (RO) feed lines, concentrate discharge headers, and post-treatment transfer piping.

  • Thermal & nuclear power stations – circulating water systems (CWS) and component cooling water (CCW) circuits.

  • Marine equipment manufacturing – heat exchangers, condensers, and evaporator interconnecting pipework.

Suitable media: Clean & raw seawater, brackish water, demineralized water, steam (low pressure), compressed air, hydraulic fluids, and light hydrocarbon oils.

  • Excellent weldability – CuNi alloys have good hot-cracking resistance and can be welded using standard TIG/MIG procedures with proper filler (e.g., ERCuNi).

  • Low magnetic permeability – ideal for naval applications requiring non-magnetic materials.
