1. Product Description
The Copper Nickel Reducing Tee is a precision-engineered pipe fitting manufactured from CuNi alloy, available in 90/10 (UNS C70600) and 70/30 (UNS C71500) material grades. This three-way fitting features a main run connection at full nominal diameter and two branch outlets of smaller dimensions, providing both flow diversion and diameter transition in a single component without the need for additional reducing adapters.
Manufactured through hot forging or seamless extrusion processes, the fitting offers a homogeneous grain structure and complete freedom from body welds. End finishes include butt weld ends with standard bevel preparation, socket weld ends with square-cut chamfered terminations, and threaded ends with precision-formed NPT or BSP threads. A post-manufacturing pickling and passivation cycle ensures a metallurgically clean surface, free from scale and surface impurities.

Unmatched corrosion durability – CuNi alloys demonstrate a seawater corrosion rate below 0.025mm per year, substantially outperforming carbon steel, galvanized steel, and standard 300-series stainless steels. The alloy's passive film is self-healing, maintaining protection even after mechanical damage.
Natural bio-resistance – the controlled release of copper ions creates a micro-environment that deters attachment and growth of barnacles, mussels, and algal species. This property significantly reduces flow efficiency losses caused by biofouling accumulation.
Superior erosion resistance – the alloy withstands continuous seawater flow velocities up to 5 m/s without erosion or cavitation damage, making it particularly suited to high-flow pump discharge and circulation system applications.
Field-proven welding – CuNi alloys are readily welded using TIG and MIG processes. The material exhibits excellent resistance to hot cracking, and the required preheat is minimal (100–150°C only for sections exceeding 20mm thickness), facilitating efficient field installation.
Product traceability – each fitting is marked with heat number and supplied with a complete mill test certificate. Independent third-party inspection services are available to meet specific project specifications.
