1. Product Description

Copper Nickel Plate is a copper‑based alloy containing nickel, iron, and manganese, designed for outstanding corrosion resistance in seawater and other aggressive aqueous environments. The material is supplied in two common grades: CuNi90/10 (C70600) and CuNi70/30 (C71500), with Chinese equivalents BFe10‑1‑1 and BFe30‑1‑1. These plates are produced by hot rolling for thicker sections (≥5 mm) and cold rolling for thinner gauges (0.5–4 mm). They can be delivered in annealed, quarter‑hard, half‑hard, and full‑hard tempers. Surface finishes include hot rolled pickled, cold rolled 2B (bright annealed), polished (240–800 grit), brushed (satin), and chequered (diamond or teardrop pattern). All plates comply with ASTM B171, ASME SB171, EN 1652, or GB/T 2059.

2. Product Applications

• Marine scrubber systems (exhaust gas cleaning): Spray water collection trays, mist eliminator support plates, absorber tower internals.

• Tidal power barrages: Turbine blade bearing plates, gate seal facing plates, cooling water intake screens.

• Seafood processing vessels: Fish hold cooling plates, brine circulation tank covers, ice maker evaporator plates.

• Desalination (MED – multi‑effect distillation): Evaporator tube support plates, demister support grids, brine distribution trays.

• Offshore wind turbine foundations: J‑tube support plates, cable bend restrictor mounting plates, corrosion monitoring access plates.

• Water jet propulsion systems: Intake grate bars, steering nozzle lining plates, wear rings for pump housings.

3.Product Advantages

• Excellent resistance to galvanic corrosion when coupled with mild steel – Potential difference less than 0.25V in seawater.

• Very low sensitivity to stress corrosion cracking (SCC) – Resists SCC even in ammonia or sulphide‑bearing waters.

• High impact strength at sub‑zero temperatures – Charpy V‑notch impact energy remains >50 J at −196°C.

• Good machinability (about 80% of free‑cutting brass) – Suitable for drilling, tapping, milling, and turning.

• High resistance to dezincification (not applicable, but no zinc present) – No risk of selective leaching.

• Easily formed into complex shapes by cold working – Can be deep drawn, spun, or hydroformed.

• Available with mill certification EN 10204 Type 3.1 or 3.2 – Full material traceability.
