1. Product Description

The Copper Nickel Equal Tee is a branch fitting with all three ports having identical inside diameters, manufactured from Cu-Ni 90/10 or Cu-Ni 70/30 alloy by seamless drawing or welded forming. Strictly conforming to ASTM B466, ASME B16.9, and MSS SP-43, it offers exceptional seawater corrosion resistance and anti-fouling properties, widely used in offshore engineering, marine piping, and chemical pipeline systems.

3.Installation & Precautions

• Unpacking & storage:Inspect for dents or deformation after unpacking; store on raised platforms to avoid moisture; do not store with sulfides or acids.

• End cleaning:Wipe ends with clean cloth dipped in industrial alcohol to remove rust preventive oil and dust before welding or connection.

• Butt weld key points:Bevel angle ≤35°; align inner walls flush during fit-up. Use low current, fast welding; remove slag after each pass.

• Socket weld:Gap between pipe and socket not too large; at least two passes around circumference; ensure uniform fillet height.

• Threaded connection:Use PTFE tape or thread sealant; keep concentric during tightening to avoid thread damage.

• System pressure test:Use fresh water for hydrotest; pressurize slowly to 1.5× working pressure; hold for 30 minutes.

• Prohibitions:

  • Do not use for strong oxidizing acids (e.g., conc. nitric acid) or media with high ammonia content.

  • Do not strike the fitting directly with a steel hammer during installation.

  • Provide adequate pipe supports to prevent excessive bending loads on the tee.
