ABB DSTA155 is a key Distributed System Terminal Adapter in the System 800xA distributed control system. It is mainly used for seamlessly integrating traditional 4-20mA, HART or switch field devices into modern AC 800M control architectures. This module can be installed in remote I/O stations or local cabinets, serving as an intelligent bridge between field instruments and controllers. It supports signal conditioning, diagnostic upload, and parameter configuration, significantly enhancing system integration efficiency and operation and maintenance transparency.

Installation and Usage instructions
Hardware installation
Insert the DSTA155 into the S800 I/O electronic rack (which needs to be paired with a base plate such as TB840A);
Connect to the CI854A communication interface module via a dedicated cable;
Connect the on-site signal line to the terminal of the module (it is recommended to use shielded twisted-pair cable).
Software configuration
Create a DSTA155 device instance in Control Builder M;
Automatically import HART device description files (DDL/EDDL);
Configure channel type, range, alarm limit value and HART variable mapping;
Download the configuration to the AC 800M controller.
Debugging and verification
Use Asset Optimizer to view the real-time status of the device;
Verify that the communication is normal through the HART controller or the upper screen.
Simulate the input signal and confirm the accuracy of the DCS display value.
