Product Overview
ABB DI811 is a new generation 16-channel digital input module in the AC 800M distributed control system. It has been comprehensively upgraded on the basis of the classic DI801, adopting tool-free spring terminal technology and supporting high-speed signal acquisition and real-time channel-level diagnosis. It is suitable for modern factories that have higher requirements for response speed, installation efficiency and maintenance convenience.
Designed for acquisition of 24 V DC switching signals, the module is compatible with both active sensors (e.g. proximity switches, photoelectric switches) and passive dry contacts (e.g. relay contacts, buttons), and is widely used in scenarios such as high-speed production lines, packaging machinery, material sorting systems, and robotic workstations.

The wiring efficiency is increased by 50%, with anti-vibration and anti-loosening properties, making it suitable for mobile devices and high-vibration environments

Installation and Usage instructions
Hardware installation
Insert DI811 into the S800 I/O electronic rack (TB842A redundant base plate is recommended);
Connect to the CI854A (optical fiber) or CI801 (electrical) communication module via the ModuleBus cable;
For dry contact input, a 24V query power supply needs to be provided either inside or outside the module (usually achieved through a pull-up resistor).
Software configuration
Add the DI811 device in Control Builder M v6.0+;
Name each channel (such as "Conveyor_Sensor_1");
Optionally enable "Input Filtering" (off by default to maintain high-speed response);
Download the configuration to the AC 800M controller.
Debugging and verification
Green LED on the front panel: The module is operating normally
The status of each channel can be monitored in real time through software (some hardware versions are equipped with channel leds)
Values can be forced into Control Builder M for logical testing (debug mode).
