The SEW SA57 DRN90S4/BE2 is a 1.1 kW, 4-pole helical-worm gear reduction brake motor with a speed of approximately 1,440 rpm at 50 Hz. Through the SA57 reduction gearbox, the typical output speed is 74 rpm (speed ratio approximately 19.5), and the output torque reaches 140 Nm. This motor features the new IE3 energy efficiency rating, an aluminum alloy housing, Class F insulation, and IP55 protection, suitable for continuous S1 operation in ambient temperatures of -20°C to +40°C.

It also integrates a BE2 24 V DC power-off brake with a braking torque of 25 Nm, a response time of <20 ms, and a friction plate life of >20,000 cycles, ensuring quick and safe stopping of vertical or inertial loads. The motor end cap is equipped with an ISO 9409-1 flange and an incremental encoder interface (1024 ppr), enabling plug-and-play integration with frequency converters and servo controllers for closed-loop vector operation or positioning control.

The entire unit features a modular design: the gearbox, motor, brake, and encoder are detachable, eliminating the need for complete disassembly for maintenance. The gearbox is factory-filled with long-life grease, ensuring a maintenance-free life of 20,000 hours. The housing is reinforced using finite element analysis, increasing the axial load capacity to 800 N while maintaining a lightweight design. It can directly withstand radial forces from sprockets, pulleys, or couplings.

The SA57 DRN90S4/BE2 is widely used in conveyor lines, elevators, packaging machines, ceramic machinery, food mixing, and warehouse stacking applications requiring low to medium speeds, high starting torque, and safe braking.
