The ABB CS513 3BSE000435R1 is an Industrial Ethernet communication interface module specifically designed for ABB Advant OCS and AC 450/800 series controllers. With dual IEEE 802.3 10/100 Mbps network ports, the MasterBus 300/300E protocol stack, and millisecond-level redundant switchover, it establishes a highly reliable, zero-packet-loss "high-speed data channel" between the control and monitoring layers, enabling truly seamless integration of DCS, PLCs, HMIs, and third-party SCADA systems.
The module is powered by a 24 V DC backplane, consumes only 1.8 W of typical power, and features an ultra-wide operating temperature range of -40°C to +70°C. Its nano-conformal coating ensures long-term, stable operation in offshore platforms, high-altitude substations, and highly corrosive chemical plants. Dual RJ45 ports support auto-negotiation and VLAN isolation, with a primary/backup link switchover time of less than 50 ms, ensuring uninterrupted process data even in the event of a backbone network failure. A built-in 32-bit RISC processor, 128 KB of RAM, and 512 KB of Flash memory can cache 256 I/O points and perform local pre-processing, significantly reducing controller load.
The CS513 supports multiple industrial protocols, including Modbus TCP, EtherNet/IP, and PROFIBUS-DP. It connects to drives, analyzers, motor protectors, and the ABB Ability™ cloud platform without requiring an additional gateway, enabling remote diagnostics and predictive maintenance. The module, with its compact 45 × 125 × 115 mm footprint and IP20 protection rating, mounts on a standard 35 mm DIN rail and can be installed vertically or horizontally in spaces as small as 80 × 80 mm, ensuring maintenance without disassembling adjacent components.
As an official ABB Lifecycle Parts Management (PLM) product, the CS513 3BSE000435R1 remains available long-term and is compatible with all AC 450/460/800 controllers with firmware version 5.1 or higher, allowing for direct replacement in legacy projects without hardware changes.
