The Pepperl+Fuchs KFD2-UFC-EX1.D 231194 is a single-channel frequency conversion safety barrier from the Pepperl+Fuchs K-System series, designed for Zone 0 hazardous locations. It isolates and converts frequency signals (1 mHz…5 kHz) from NAMUR sensors or dry contacts into 0/4…20 mA analog outputs, while also providing two programmable relay alarm points. Its 40 mm-thick DIN rail enclosure (40 × 119 × 115 mm, IP20) allows for minimal space in cabinets. Its wide operating temperature range of -20…+60°C ensures reliable operation in offshore platforms, oil and gas storage and transportation, and chemical plants.
The device is internationally certified to ATEX / IECEx Ex ia IIC T4 Ga and Ex ia IIIC T135°C Da, providing reliable isolation between intrinsically safe circuits and larger systems. Powered by 24 V DC (20…30 V), with a typical power consumption of 100 mA, it can be plugged directly into a Power-Rail power rail for hot swapping without downtime. Parameters such as range, alarm value, and filter time can be set in seconds using the panel knob or PC software. The LED displays input frequency, relay status, and line faults in real time, significantly reducing commissioning and maintenance time.
