The BECKHOFF EK1501 is a high-performance EtherCAT coupler with multi-mode fiber optic connection, designed for connecting EtherCAT fieldbus protocol with EtherCAT terminal modules. This industrial coupler converts transmitted messages from 100BASE-FX Ethernet to E-bus signals, enabling reliable communication in demanding industrial automation environments.
The EK1501 coupler features two SC duplex interfaces for multi-mode fiber optic connections, supporting station distances up to 2000 meters (100BASE-FX). With approximately 1µs latency and 100 Mbit/s data transfer rate, it ensures real-time performance for industrial control systems. The coupler supports up to 65,534 EtherCAT terminal modules with a maximum of 4.2 GB addressable I/O points and 4096 configurable ID numbers.
Equipped with an ID switch for easy configuration, the EK1501 is widely used in manufacturing automation, process control systems, distributed I/O applications, and industrial machine control. Its robust construction and fiber optic interface make it ideal for environments requiring long-distance communication, electrical isolation, and immunity to electromagnetic interference.
