4. Material & Condition Resistance Performance (Custom EPDM Formula for Gas Units)
4.1 Layered Structure
Inner layer: Condensed water resistant EPDM for gas service; resists swelling from trace natural gas components and prevents debris shedding that may damage turbocharger impellers
Outer layer: Ozone and high-temperature aging resistant EPDM; avoids cracking from long-term continuous operation of generator sets
4.2 Temperature Resistance
Continuous operating temperature range: -40°C ~ +125°C
Instantaneous thermal shock limit: 135°C, no delamination or bulging after 15 minutes of exposure
4.3 Pressure Performance (Matched with Negative Pressure of TBG620 V16 Unit)
At rated negative pressure of -88 kPa: No pipe wall indentation, cross-sectional flow area reduction <3%
Positive withstand pressure: 0.35 MPa, no delamination or bulging
Burst safety pressure: ≥1.1 MPa
Connector pull-out resistance: ≥950 N; resistant to loosening under alternating tension during unit startup and shutdown
5. Core Functions for TBG620 V16 Unit
Vibration Isolation
Low-frequency vibration generated by the high-power V16 engine transmits readily to rigid air intake pipes. This bellows blocks vibration transmission and prevents fatigue fracture of air filter fixing brackets and weld cracking on rigid intake pipes.
Large-Flow Intake Flow Guidance
The smoothly contoured corrugated inner wall delivers an intake resistance of only 172 Pa at a high mixture flow rate of 7084 kg/h, eliminating intake throttling, air-fuel ratio drift and unit output power reduction.
Noise Reduction
Suppresses intake airflow howling and reduces intake noise level in the generator room by 3~5 dB(A).
Condensed Water Diversion
Corrugation valleys collect small volumes of condensed water and prevent direct water ingress into turbochargers and cylinders, lowering the risk of hydraulic shock damage.
6. Exclusive Installation Specifications for TBG620 V16 (6002) Unit
Direct fit at original mounting position; no cutting or rerouting required, free of interference with engine wiring harness and cooling water pipelines;
Tightening torque for OEM supporting hose clamps: 6.5~8 N·m; fasten clamps evenly at both ends to avoid flow area reduction caused by one-sided over-compression;
Install the hose in natural relaxed state without twisting; maximum allowable twist angle strictly limited to ≤15°;
The intake bellows on both turbocharger sides of a single V16 unit share the same part number and are interchangeable left and right.
7. Replacement Criteria Based on Unit-Specific Fault Phenomena
The 12420483 bellows must be replaced if any of the following conditions occur:
Corrugation cracking, outer rubber pulverization or inner layer detachment;
Pipe collapse under negative pressure leading to insufficient intake flow, reduced active power output and elevated gas consumption of the unit;
Air leakage at connectors causing unbalanced mixture ratio, frequent unit alarms, unstable idling and abnormal exhaust temperature;
Hose deformation and dislodgement at hose clamp positions, posing gas leakage safety hazards.
8. Endurance Standards for Continuous Generator Set Operation
Continuous service life: ≥5 years / 40,000 operating hours
Reciprocating fatigue test: No corrugation fracture or delamination after 100,000 vibration cycles
Weathering resistance: No hardening or cracking under long-term exposure to engine compartment oil contamination, ozone and high temperatures
