The Allen-Bradley 1794-PS1/A delivers isolated 24V DC power to FLEX I/O systems, eliminating loop interference in tight cabinets.
Technical Note: Total FLEX I/O backplane current must not exceed 1.0A. For setups with 4+ high-draw analog modules, check your combined load or use an upgraded 1794-PS3 supply.

Q: What is the primary function of the Allen-Bradley 1794-PS1/A module?
A: The 1794-PS1/A handles the power side of a FLEX I/O system. It is used to supply 24V DC power for the backplane and terminal bases. In older Allen-Bradley systems, replacing this single part is often enough to keep the existing setup running.
Q: What input and output ratings of 1794-PS1/A should be considered?
A: It works with 85-265V AC input, 50/60 Hz. The output rating is 24V DC and 1A maximum. For replacement work, the existing I/O load is normally checked before installation.
Q: Can one 1794-PS1/A run any FLEX I/O configuration?
A: Not always. The final limit depends on the connected modules and their power consumption. Once the load gets close to 1A, additional power support may be required.
Q: What about isolation protection of 1794-PS1/A?
A: The AC and DC sides are separated, with 1500V AC isolation. This helps reduce interference issues that may appear in industrial control environments.
Q: Why is the 1794-PS1/A still requested today?
A: The Series A unit is discontinued, but many plants still operate older FLEX I/O systems. Because of this, original surplus 1794-PS1/A stock and refurbished Allen-Bradley parts are still used for maintenance.
