Description
Clethodim is a yellow-green viscous oily liquid. Soluble in most organic solvents; slightly soluble in water (5.4 grams per liter at pH 7). It is sold on the market as an emulsifiable concentrate. It is a concentrated solution of clethodim in petroleum solvents (naphthalene and mesitylene) that must be emulsified with water. [2] Clethodim in commercial products is a mixture of isomers.
Clethodim is moderately toxic to mammals. It irritates the skin and makes the skin allergic. Compared with pure substances, commercial products are more toxic to aquatic organisms.
