The S2 encoder uses the EnDat 2.1 interface with 2,048 signal periods and provides absolute angular position within one shaft revolution. The drive and feedback cable must support S2 feedback.
The RNNN ending represents increased concentricity rather than ATEX construction. This design can be relevant for precision couplings, direct mechanical transmission, rollers and machine axes sensitive to shaft runout.
The motor uses a plain sealed shaft and does not include a holding brake. The machine coupling and any independent load-holding system must be selected accordingly.
Applications may include machine tools, printing equipment, packaging machinery, heavy handling axes, converting machinery and high-accuracy automated production systems.
