Application:
The 228-9129 12 V electric gear-type lift pump is specified for Perkins T4.236 and AT4.236 turbocharged diesel engines (4.0 L, 4-cylinder) that power agricultural tractors such as Massey Ferguson 2400- and 3400-series, combine harvesters like the MF 7200 line, plus generator sets from FG Wilson and Pramac, and industrial machinery including JCB 3CX backhoe loaders and Manitou MLT telehandlers. It mounts on the rear left face of the timing cover and supplies filtered fuel to the high-pressure injection pump across engine speeds from 650 r/min idle to 2 400 r/min rated.
Technical specifications:
Positive-displacement gear pump delivers 130 L/h at 350 kPa and 12 V, drawing 6 A at 2 000 r/min. Die-cast aluminium body with SAE J744 size 2 flange (two M8 threaded holes on 50 mm centres); 8 mm quick-connect inlet/outlet ports accept standard push-fit fuel lines. Internal relief valve opens at 400 kPa for downstream protection; Viton seals and gaskets ensure compatibility with biodiesel blends up to B20 and ultra-low-sulphur winter diesel down to −45 °C.
Material & performance features:
Powder-coated aluminium housing resists salt-spray corrosion; precision-hardened steel gears run in a bronze bearing sleeve for quiet, long-life operation. Stainless-steel magnetic strainer cap captures ferrous debris down to 40 µm, while spring-loaded Viton check valves prevent back-flow and vapour lock. The encapsulated 12 V DC motor is IP67-sealed against dust and moisture, and a self-resetting thermal cut-off at 110 °C guards against overload. Lightweight, vibration-damped and maintenance-free sealed bearings make the unit ideal for continuous-duty agricultural, construction and standby-power applications.
