How to exclude excavator engine overheating:

1: Glance

If it is found that the engine temperature is too high or the temperature indior light has been flashing, stop the water tank to check whether the cooling water is normal, water tank, water pipe and each joint is leaking. If no abnormality is found by external inspection, the cooling water can be replenished before continuing to work.

If the temperature is still too high after working for a period of time, stop checking and find that the cooling water is greatly reduced, which is mostly caused by the loss of blisters or perforations in the cylinder body water jacket. After finding this fault, it should be repaired in time and must not be taken lightly.

2: Rinse

If dirt is attached to the radiator for a long time, it will affect the heat dissipation effect and lead to too high water temperature. You can blow the radiator grille with compressed air and then hose it down.

Liners are generally made in special cast iron alloys containing elements with natural lubriing properties, like graphite. Other components are added like chrome, vanadium, and molybdenum to help ensure resistance to corrosion and wear caused by high temperatures.

• Easier maintenance. When liners are worn they can be replaced more easily than changing an entire cylinder block.

• Higher thermal conductivity. At operating temperatures the liners heat up more than the cylinders and must be able to expand in both diameter and length. If they were cast together with the cylinders, the resulting thermal loading would be high enough to fracture the materials.

• Less risk of defects. The more complex a casting, the more difficult it is to achieve perfectly even surfaces with low residual stresses.
