The LW490 plastic recycling wash water sludge dewatering decanter centrifuge is a workhorse for plastic recycling plants that wash PET bottles, HDPE containers and mixed post consumer plastics. Washing generates a turbid water stream loaded with paper labels, sand, dirt, adhesive residue and fine plastic particles. If this water is not treated, it quickly degrades the washing process, increases fresh water consumption and creates a sludge disposal problem. The LW490 dewaters this wash water continuously, removing suspended solids so that the water can be recycled back to the washing line and the solids can be disposed of as a dry cake instead of a costly wet slurry.
Plastic recycling plants operate with thin profit margins, so water treatment equipment must pay for itself through reduced water bills, lower chemical use and less waste disposal. The LW490 is designed for exactly that duty: its 490 mm bowl and 45 kW drive deliver up to 22 m3/H of wash water throughput, and the machine is engineered for low energy consumption per cubic meter treated. The polymer dosing system flocculates the fine solids so that the decanter achieves a clear effluent suitable for direct reuse in the first and second washing stages. Because wash water contains abrasive grit, the conveyor and feed zone are protected with hard facing to guarantee a long operating life between overhauls.

The LW490 serves PET bottle recycling lines, HDPE and PP regranulation plants, film washing operations, e waste plastics processing and mixed municipal plastics sorting facilities. It treats wash water, flotation tank underflow and centrifuge rejects, and it can also thicken sludge from the dissolved air flotation units used to remove ink and adhesive. In recycling parks treating several material streams, one LW490 can serve a complete water treatment loop shared by multiple washing lines.

The delivery includes the decanter, control panel, polymer dosing skid and interconnecting pipework as a ready to connect package.
