Precautions for Gastrostomy tube

1. Before surgery: Precautions for performing gastroscopy: Patients should not eat or drink, maintain a clean stomach, and definitely undergo gastroscopy surgery. If the patient has esophageal or gastric obstruction and cannot enter the gastroscopy, surgical treatment cannot be performed;
2. During surgery: Attention should be paid to the operation of inserting a tube into the stomach in the abdomen. Sometimes the position cannot be found, and it may be inserted into other abdominal organs or even blood vessels, causing unnecessary trouble and potentially endangering life. Therefore, when inserting a needle, the operator must cooperate with the gastroscopy doctor and ensure that the direction of the needle is clearly observed. When the needle enters the stomach, it must be detected in a timely manner. It cannot be detected again after entering, as it may penetrate into other places;
3. After surgery: Patients returning to the ward must pay attention to the issue of wound infection. The amount of food injected by patients after gastrostomy may vary depending on their physical condition. If there are no other problems with the wound, such as no infection or bleeding, the patient can pour some water in at that time after finishing. The next day, you can prepare food with a suitable temperature, such as liquid food at around 35 ℃. Drugs with total gastrointestinal nutrition in pharmacies can be injected into patients, and the injection amount needs to be determined based on the patient's affordability and physical condition at the time. Regular care should be taken after fistulation to keep the wound clean and prevent blockage.
