Forced-air warming (FAW) system designed to prevent hypothermia and keep patients at a normal core body temperature during all three phases of orthopedic surgery - preoperative, intraoperative and postoperative phases. The blankets stabilize core temperature ahead of surgery, then maintain it during the procedure and immediately afterwards as the patient recovers
The Blankets are intended for single patient use only.Reuse may result in biocontamination or infection.
Directionforuse:
1.A physician's order is required for the temperature setting of the heating unit and for use if the therapy.Pediatric,temperature-sensitive and operatingroompatientsshouldbecheckedmorefrequentlythanevery20minutes.
2.Monitor the patient's vital signs, skin temperature and condition at least every 10-20 minutes. Reduce air temperature or discontinue warming therapy when normal body temperature is reached, or if vital sign instability occurs. Notify the attending physician promptly if vital signsbecomeunstable.
3.Closelymonitorpatientwithperipheralvasculardisease.
4.Donotapplyheattolowerextremitiesduringaorticcross-clamping.Thermalinjurymayoccurifheatisappliedtoischemiclimbs.
