The 20.5mm pitch is designed for 18650 packs using heavy-duty ABS plastic holders, secondary insulation sleeves, or cell spacers thicker than 1.5 mm. If you find your standard 20.2mm strip is slightly "short" at the ends of a long 6P or 8P parallel group, the 20.5mm variant provides the necessary clearance to center the strip on the cell caps without cumulative alignment error.
Yes. Our modular die sets allow us to switch between 1P and 6P configurations efficiently. As long as the total order meets our 5 kg MOQ, you can distribute that quantity across multiple configurations of the same grade and thickness (e.g., 2.5 kg of 4P and 2.5 kg of 6P).
We supply both. Modular 1P–6P strip can be delivered as pre-formed, continuous spools (indexed for your welding machine) or as individual, cut-to-length group links. Most automated pack lines prefer continuous spooled strip to reduce loading labor. Specify your preference at inquiry.
For 95% of consumer and industrial 18650 packs (e-bikes, vacuum cleaners, ESS), Ni200 (99.6% Ni) is the industry standard—it offers the best balance of conductivity, corrosion resistance, and cost. Choose N4 (99.9% Ni) only if your application is medical-grade, aerospace-specified, or involves ultra-high vacuum environments where trace iron (Fe) outgassing is a risk.
If your required pitch or layout is truly unique, our in-house toolroom can design, cut, and qualify a new progressive die within 10–12 working days. We provide a first-article inspection sample from the new tool before beginning the full production run. A one-time tooling setup fee applies, which is credited back on your first order exceeding 500 kg.
