Cylindrical Marine Fenders are heavy-duty rubber fendering systems designed to provide reliable protection between vessels and fixed or floating marine structures during berthing, maneuvering, mooring, and ship-to-ship contact.
The cylindrical geometry allows the fender to rotate, roll, or deflect according to the direction of vessel movement, helping distribute contact pressure over a larger area while reducing localized loads on hull structures and quay walls.
Manufactured from high-quality natural rubber or engineered synthetic rubber compounds, these fenders are selected according to operating temperature, seawater exposure, abrasion conditions, loading frequency, and required service life. They can be supplied with chains, brackets, steel mounting components, ropes, sliding systems, or other retaining accessories.
A ship repair facility operating a 35,000 DWT multipurpose vessel berth required a replacement fender system for a quay frequently used by cargo ships, offshore support vessels, and maintenance vessels.
The cylindrical marine fender system was selected because its circular geometry could accommodate changing vessel contact angles while maintaining a continuous protective interface. Following commissioning, the shipyard reported smoother vessel contact during docking operations and reduced visible damage to vessel-side coatings.
