Its primary function is to tension and tighten the rubber track. Here's how it works: when you grease the tensioner in order to tighten the track, this very roller expands, effectively fulfilling its purpose.
 
Now, moving on to the idler. This comes pre - assembled with the bearing already in place, which means it's all set for a seamless installation. All you need to do is reuse the existing bolts you have. These bolts will be used to securely attach the idler to the tensioner.
