A Drill stem testing is kind of downhole testing service for evaluating the hydrocarbon potential of a reservoir. The drill stem test is a valuable and cost effective test that is mainly employed in exploratory wells. The main objective of the test is to study the reservoir characteristics as well as evaluate the commercial aspects of the reservoir. And a Drill Stem Test is carried out in a wellbore and the
DST tool string contains many kinds of components including high pressure packer, circulating valve, downhole tester valve, sampler, safety joint, safety valve, drain valve, gauge carrier and cross over sub.
* Retrievable Packers in 70Mpa and 105 Mpahaving expandable seals that isolate the formation.
* Downhole tester valves that open and close the well for reservoir build up studies during flow. These valves are also closed during emergency situations including mechnical tester valve, select tester valve, tubing string tester valve, LPR - N valve.
* The gauge carrier with data recorder that collects the pressure and temperature data during the testing period.
* The Rupture Disk Sampler that collect the sample near the wellbore at the existing conditions.
