Self-drilling rock bolts are advanced geotechnical anchoring and support components that integrate drilling, anchoring, and grouting functions into a single system. The self-drilling anchor bolt system consists of six key components working in coordination: drill bit, hollow bolt, plate, coupler, centralizer, and nut. This integrated design ensures seamless support operations in various geotechnical applications.

Working Principle

Drilling and Hole Formation: The drilling rig rotates the self-drilling anchor bolt, with the drill bit cutting through rock and soil to form the borehole. The anchor bolt advances simultaneously, eliminating the need for additional drill rods.
High-Pressure Grouting: Cement mortar or specialized anchoring grout is injected through the hollow channel of the anchor bolt body. Grout diffuses through the drill bit's grout holes, filling gaps between the anchor bolt and borehole wall as well as rock and soil fissures.
Anchoring and Forming: After grout solidification, the anchor bolt and surrounding rock/soil form a robust anchoring structure. The nut locks the bearing plate, providing active support to resist deformation and collapse.
