UWB Ultra-Wideband Positioning system Fake GPS ROS navigation, it is a PNTC (positioning, navigation, timing and communication) local positioning system based on UWB technology. It supports 1D, 2D and 3D positioning, 1D and 2D typical positioning accuracy is 10cm, and 3D typical positioning accuracy is 30cm; it also supports 40 tags and 120 base station positioning. Support distributed ranging and data transmission, realize cluster formation without geographical restrictions; support pure data transmission mode, bandwidth up to 3Mbps.

In indoor environments or areas with weak/absent GPS signals, users only need to deploy 4 UWB micro base stations in the target area and replace the original GPS receiver of the carrier (e.g., UAVs, robots) with UWB tags. This setup delivers positioning effects with higher accuracy and a faster refresh rate than traditional GPS.

The tag’s output coordinates adhere to the base station coordinate system: the Y-axis points to north latitude, the X-axis to east longitude, and the Z-axis corresponds to altitude. The origin of the base station coordinate system can be set to a fixed latitude and longitude, with the number of base stations simulating satellites, the accuracy estimation factor corresponding to the geometric dilution of precision (GDOP), and output data formatted as NMEA-0183 to simulate latitude/longitude information. The attached diagram shows the default latitude/longitude starting point.

For user convenience, calibration of anchors and configuration saving are automatically completed by sending a command to any anchor or the console—ensuring effortless deployment and quick setup.

Fully compatible with the NMEA-0183 protocol, the LinkTrack UWB Positioning System allows direct replacement of the target device’s GPS with a positioning tag. No secondary development is required to achieve higher positioning accuracy and refresh frequency than GPS.

Moreover, connecting to any positioning node and running the LinkTrack ROS node enables real-time positioning data subscription. By eliminating the need for low-level communication processing and data analysis, it empowers ROS developers to rapidly implement high-precision robot positioning and navigation.

The LinkTrack UWB high-precision positioning system integrates positioning, navigation, timing, and communication. The positioning accuracy is as high as 10cm, which brings more possibilities for robot swarm formation, trajectory capture, navigation and positioning and other fields.
