The OWL Emergency Recovery Landing Parachute for the DJI M300 drone is designed to ensure safe flight and emergency recovery in case of system failure. Powered by the DJI onboard SDK, the parachute system communicates directly with the DJI Matrice 300 drone. Featuring a dual IMU and dual barometer sensor redundancy design, it ensures real-time sensor data acquisition from both the drone and the parachute system. The data fusion between these two sensors is used to determine the optimal time for parachute deployment, ensuring flight safety.
The OWL DJI M300 parachute is equipped with an advanced safety algorithm that reduces hazard response time to just 0.5 seconds. In an emergency, the parachute can be manually deployed as well. The system ensures a controlled descent with a stabilized speed of 3.5 m/s (tested with a 9 kg drone). During forced landing, a high-power buzzer continuously emits a 110 dB warning sound, alerting ground personnel to move out of the way and ensuring safety.
The OWL M300 parachute uses dual sensor redundancy and is connected to the DJI M300 OSDK to collect real-time UAV sensor data, providing higher reliability and more precise parachute opening decisions.
The OWL M300 parachute integrates dual IMU and dual barometer sensors, ensuring accurate and reliable data collection for parachute deployment.
Equipped with a Firefly safety algorithm, the parachute responds to emergencies in just 0.5 seconds, ensuring rapid activation during critical situations.
In case of an emergency, the parachute can be manually deployed, allowing for quick action if needed.
The parachute ensures a stable descent with a landing speed of 3.5 m/s, minimizing the risk of damage during forced landings.
The built-in 110 dB buzzer continuously alerts pedestrians and personnel on the ground to avoid danger during a forced landing.
The parachute system is easy to install—simply remove the M300 drone arm screws, replace them with the OWL parachute, and install the mounting bracket in just 50 seconds. This offers a seamless fit with the DJI M300 drone.
The parachute’s aerodynamic design reduces wind drag, ensuring smooth flight without affecting the drone's gimbal payload or overall function. It is both lightweight and structurally strong, minimizing the impact on flight time.
With an IP X5 protection rating, the system is dustproof and water-resistant, ensuring reliable operation in harsh weather conditions.
The parachute bin includes an environmental monitoring system that can track temperature and humidity in real-time, providing better operational insight.
The parachute system supports online firmware upgrades, allowing engineers to continuously optimize the system based on new test data and improve performance over time.
