DTF Wet Capping is a crucial maintenance process used in Direct-to-Film (DTF) printing technology to protect and preserve the printer’s printhead when the machine is not in operation. The term “wet capping” refers to covering the printhead with a moisture-sealed cap that contains a cleaning or maintenance solution, preventing the printhead nozzles from drying out or becoming clogged. This process ensures consistent ink flow, print quality, and long-term printhead reliability.

DTF printing, known for its versatility in printing high-quality designs on fabrics and various materials, relies heavily on the condition of its printhead. Since DTF inks are pigment-based and can dry quickly, maintaining the printhead in an optimal state through wet capping is essential for smooth and trouble-free operation.
