During the process, drilling fluid is injected through the hollow drill pipe to cool the bit, remove cuttings, and stabilize the borehole wall. The auger drill rod simultaneously transmits rotational energy downward while conveying excavated material upward through its helical flights. This mechanized process enables precise vertical/horizontal boring for applications including foundation piling, tunnel construction, utility installation, and mineral exploration.
