A Carbon Ink PCB features a conductive carbon paste printed directly onto the copper pads of the circuit board. This layer acts as a permanent contact interface.
The Advantage: It offers similar conductivity and oxidation resistance to Gold Fingers but at a significantly lower manufacturing cost.
The Durability: Properly cured carbon ink is extremely hard and can withstand over 1 million mechanical keystrokes without wearing down.

To ensure the best manufacturability and performance, we recommend the following design rules:
Carbon Gap: Maintain a minimum gap of 0.20mm between carbon elements to prevent short circuits.
Copper Overlap: The carbon ink should overlap the copper pad by at least 0.15mm (6mil) to ensure a solid electrical connection.
Solder Mask Opening: The solder mask opening should be slightly larger than the carbon print area to ensure the carbon sits directly on the copper, not on the mask edge.
