Structure
Connectorized End: This end has a standard connector (like SC, LC, FC, ST, or MTP/MPO for multi-fiber) that is polished and precision-made in a factory. This ensures optimal performance.
Bare Fiber End: This is the "working" end. The fiber's buffer coating is stripped away, leaving the bare glass cladding and core exposed. This end is designed for splicing.
Cable Jacket: A short, ruggedized jacket (often 900µm or 2mm/3mm) protects the fiber. It is usually color-coded (orange for multimode, yellow for single-mode).
