Our sleeping mats are made from eco-friendly, non-toxic, and BPA-free materials. Any slight "new product" scent upon opening is completely harmless and is just standard for fresh foam. Simply let it air out in a well-ventilated area for 24 hours, and the scent will completely dissipate.
Foam pads are intentionally designed for external carry. At only about 300g, it adds virtually zero weight to your load. Simply roll it up tightly, secure it with the included elastic straps, and clip/lash it to the bottom, side, or top of your backpacking pack. It takes zero space inside your pack.
