A:​ The 2WFCE​ is a cartridge-style, pilot-operated valve​ designed for very high flow (500 L/min) and high pressure (420 bar). It is installed in a manifold cavity. The 2FRE​ is a subplate-mounted, direct-operated valve​ typically used for lower flow applications. The 2WFCE also features Integrated Electronics (OBE), meaning the amplifier is built into the valve cover.

Q2: Does this valve include built-in pressure compensation?

A:No.​ The 2WFCE40S500L is a proportional directional/throttling valve. It does not​ have a built-in pressure compensator. To achieve load-independent flow control, you must install a separate pressure compensator​ (e.g., an FD-type pressure compensator) upstream or downstream of this valve.

Q3: What does the "24G1" suffix indicate?

A:24G1​ specifies the electrical interface:

  • 24: 24 V DC supply voltage.

  • G1: Analog command input of 4–20 mA​ (current signal). This interface also provides a "Ready" signal output for monitoring the valve's electronic status.

Q4: What happens if power is lost or the cable breaks?

A:​ The valve has a fail-safe closed​ function. If the supply voltage fails or drops below the threshold, or if the solenoid cable breaks, the main stage spool is pushed to its seat by spring force and system pressure, blocking flow between ports A and B.

Q5: What is the purpose of the X and Y ports?

A:Port X​ is the pilot supply​ port. It must be connected to a pressurized oil source (often from port A or B, or an external source) to operate the pilot stage. Port Y​ is the drain port​ for the pilot control oil and must be connected directly to the tank with minimal backpressure.
