Spool Type (C4)
The C4 spool is a zero-overlap (critical center) spool with servo-valve quality. This design provides high linearity and fast response, ideal for closed-loop control applications. The "B100L" indicates a specific flow gain characteristic (100 L/min with linear characteristic "L").
Control & Feedback (External Electronics)
Unlike the previously discussed 4WRPEH valves, the 4WRPH series does not have integrated on-board electronics (OBE). It requires an external proportional amplifier (e.g., Rexroth VT-VSPA1-1X or similar). The valve features an LVDT position feedback sensor, which must be connected to the amplifier for closed-loop control of the spool position. The control signal is typically ±10 V DC.
High Dynamic Performance
As a direct-acting valve with LVDT feedback, the 4WRPH series offers high frequency response and fast step response. It is suitable for applications requiring servo-like performance with the robustness of a proportional valve.
Fail-Safe Behavior
This valve is single-side actuated (single proportional solenoid with spring return). In the event of power failure, the spring returns the spool to a defined 4/4 fail-safe position (typically all ports blocked).
Critical Installation Notes
Amplifier Requirement: You must use an external amplifier compatible with LVDT feedback valves. The amplifier provides the ±15 VDC supply for the LVDT and processes the ±10 V feedback signal.
Cleanliness: Maintain high oil cleanliness (recommended ISO 4406 18/16/13 or better) due to the sensitive servo-type spool and sleeve assembly.
Mounting: Use the correct ISO 4401-05 (NG10) subplate to ensure proper port alignment and sealing.
