The IC693PBM201 module is a communication module manufactured by GE Fanuc. The GE Fanuc IC693PBM201 Series 90-30 communication module is compatible with CPU baseplates, expansion baseplates, or remote baseplates in a GE Fanuc PLC. However, it should not be installed in slot 1 of any baseplate, because slot 1 is usually reserved for a power supply module, and every baseplate in the PLC system needs to have its own power supply module in order to operate. The IC693PBM201 communication module is designed to support standard data communication rates for efficient data transfers and efficient communication. It can operate safely in a temperature range between 0 and 60 degrees Celsius or 32 and 140 degrees Fahrenheit. The communication ports that the IC693PBM201 communication module is equipped with are an RS-232 service communication port and a Profibus master communication port. The RS-232 port can be used for firmware upgrades and the Profibus port connects the module and its host PLC to the Profibus network.
