National Instruments PXI-6514 PXI Digital I/O Module

The NI PXI-6514 (Part Number: 778965-01) is an industrial, 64-Channel, ±30 VDC, isolated PXI Digital I/O Module. This module has 32 source/sink input lines and 32 source output lines. To ensure safer operation when connected to industrial process actuators, the user can configure the initial output state through software. The inputs and outputs in the individual banks of the NI PXI 6514 remain isolated from the inputs and outputs in all the other banks. This module is suitable for general-purpose data acquisition applications, automated manufacturing test, and industrial control.

This PXI Digital I/O Module can sense DC signals from 11 to 30 V. While applying a DC voltage of a minimum 11 V across two input terminals, the PXI 6514 registers a logic high for that input. If a voltage of 4 V or less is present across the two input terminals, the device registers a logic low for that input. This model is entirely software configurable; thus, it is not required to set jumpers for any I/O configuration. Additionally, the PXI-6514 has programmable power-up states, which provide safe functioning when linked to relays, pumps, motors, and valves.

The National Instruments NI PXI-6514 features a digital filtering function. This function can be used for the elimination of noise and spikes on the input data. This model also incorporates NI digital I/O watchdog technology that provides protection against a broad range of fault conditions, such as application crash, computer crash, driver crash, etc. With its change detection function, the user can automatically trigger their software application to proceed with a digital read operation upon a change of state. The PXI-6514 is run using the NIDAQmx driver software which is compatible application development packages like LabVIEW or LabWindows/CVI.

The NI PXI-6514 Digital I/O Module has a 100-pin high-density SCSI connector, which can be linked to 100-pin ribbon cables or shielded cables. This module can be utilized with the R1005050 ribbon cable and two CB-50 or CB-50LP Connector Blocks for unshielded connectivity or with the SH100-100-F Shielded Digital I/O Cable and the CB-37FH DIN-rail-mountable Connector Block for shielded connectivity.

The PXI-6514 weighs 6.1 oz, and measures 6.3 x 3.9 in. in physical dimensions.
