High Light G2.5 Dynamic Balance RollerHigh Speed 3000 RPM CylinderISO 1940 Certified Embossing
Dynamic Balance G2.5 Certified Steel Embossing Roller Alloy Forged High Speed 3000 RPM ISO 1940
This dynamic balance certified steel embossing roller is engineered for high-speed rotary converting lines where rotational stability directly determines pattern registration accuracy, bearing service life, and finished product quality. Forged from 42CrMo4 alloy steel and precision-machined to exacting geometric tolerances, each roller undergoes a multi-plane dynamic balancing procedure on a Schenck-type hard-bearing balancing machine.
The balancing process achieves ISO 1940/1 Grade G2.5 certification, corresponding to a residual specific unbalance of less than 0.8 gram-millimeters per kilogram of rotor mass, enabling vibration-free operation at speeds up to 3000 revolutions per minute.
The significance of G2.5 balance quality becomes critical in modern high-speed embossing lines where production rates exceed 200 meters per minute. At these velocities, even minor mass asymmetry generates centrifugal forces that amplify exponentially with speed, causing bearing overload, pattern misregistration, roller deflection, and premature fatigue failure of support structures.
Our balancing protocol includes initial two-plane dynamic balancing of the raw machined blank, intermediate balancing after engraving to compensate for material removal asymmetry, and final trim balancing after surface treatment to account for chrome plating thickness variation. Each roller is delivered with a comprehensive balance certificate documenting the measured residual unbalance in both correction planes, the achieved balance grade, and the maximum permissible operating speed.
Key Features
  • ISO 1940/1 G2.5 Balance Grade: Achieved through multi-plane dynamic balancing on precision hard-bearing machines, this grade is the standard requirement for gas turbine rotors and high-speed machine tool spindles, representing the highest balance quality class commonly specified for industrial rotating equipment.
  • 3000 RPM Rated Speed: The forged alloy construction and precision balancing permit continuous operation at 3000 RPM without exceeding permissible bearing loads or vibration amplitudes, enabling integration into the fastest converting and embossing lines in the packaging, printing, and nonwoven industries.
  • Residual Unbalance 0.8 gmm/kg: The mass asymmetry remaining after final trim balancing is certifiably below 0.8 gram-millimeters per kilogram, equivalent to a center-of-gravity displacement of less than 0.8 microns from the rotational axis at the roller mid-plane.
  • 42CrMo4 Forged Alloy Construction: The forged microstructure provides superior fatigue strength compared to cast or rolled alternatives, with a homogeneous grain flow pattern oriented along the roller axis that resists crack propagation under cyclic bending and torsional loads.
  • Triple-Stage Balancing Protocol: Pre-engraving blank balancing corrects raw material asymmetry, post-engraving balancing compensates for pattern-related mass distribution changes, and post-plating trim balancing eliminates coating-induced imbalance before final certification.
  • Bearing Journal Runout 0.005mm: The bearing seats are finish-ground between centers to a cylindricity and concentricity tolerance of five microns or better, ensuring true rotation and uniform load distribution across the full width of the support bearings.

Applications
This dynamically balanced roller is essential for high-speed flexographic printing presses, rotary hot stamping and foil transfer machines, nonwoven fabric embossing lines, high-velocity gravure coating stations, multi-layer laminate calendering systems, and tissue converting machinery where rotational speeds exceed 1500 RPM.
The G2.5 balance quality also benefits medium-speed applications where extended bearing life, reduced maintenance intervals, and minimized machine frame vibration contribute to lower total cost of ownership. Industries served include flexible packaging, hygiene product manufacturing, decorative surface materials, technical textiles, and automotive interior component production.
Packaging & Quality Assurance
Each dynamically balanced roller is supported in a precision-machined wooden cradle equipped with elastomeric vibration dampers that isolate the roller from transport-induced shock and prevent balance degradation during shipping. The roller surface is protected with VCI anti-corrosion film and a cushioned outer wrap.
Documentation includes the ISO 1940/1 balance certificate with polar plots of correction planes, material certificate to EN 10204 3.1, dimensional inspection report with journal runout measurements, and heat treatment chart. A 12-month warranty covers balance quality retention and material integrity under normal operating conditions.
