The GentleYAG system is a non-invasive procedure that can remove unwanted body hair on all skin types without damaging the delicate pores and structures of the skin. It uses laser light with 755nm and 1064nm wavelength which can be safely used on the face and body. It is non-ablative, which means it does not cut the top layer of your skin. The laser emits a gentle beam of light that passes through the skin to the hair follicle where it is absorbed. The laser energy is transformed into heat, which destroys the hair follicle leaving the surrounding skin unaffected.
GentleYAG long pulse laser can be used to treat all areas of the body. The most common areas include legs, arms, armpits, bikini line, back, chest, upper lip and chin. 4-6 sessions are needed, usually spaced 4 to 8 weeks apart depending on location. The GentleYAG laser is also used for anti-aging treatments, such as spider veins, sunspots and wrinkles.
One key advantage of GentleYAG long pulse laser hair removal is that the procedure does not hurt, and can be done on an outpatient basis. Some topical anesthesia is applied by request, as some patients say the feeling of the laser is like that of snapping a rubber band against the skin and can cause minor irritation in some patients.
