2K Aerosol Can vs. Regular Aerosol Can: What Is the Difference?
Choosing between a 2K aerosol can and a standard (1K) aerosol can determines the final film quality of your coating. Here is how they differ:
Curing mechanism: A 2K can keeps the paint resin and hardener (activator) in separate internal chambers until the moment of spraying, so cross-linking occurs during application. A regular 1K can holds a pre-mixed, air-drying formula that never achieves true chemical curing.
Film hardness and durability: 2K systems form a tough, chemical-resistant film with outstanding adhesion and scratch resistance. 1K systems remain softer and are prone to yellowing, chalking and solvent attack.
Gloss and leveling: The reactive curing of 2K paint delivers deep gloss and mirror-like leveling comparable to spray gun application, while 1K finishes often show orange peel and lower gloss retention.
UV and weather resistance: 2K clear coats resist UV degradation and weathering for years; 1K lacquers fade and crack quickly under sunlight.

Can this empty aerosol can be used for 2K clear coat?
Yes. The internal separator keeps the resin and activator apart until spraying, making it ideal for 2K clear coat, base coat, PU paint and epoxy primer.
What is the difference between a 2K aerosol can and a regular aerosol can?
A 2K aerosol can stores two reactive components separately and mixes them at the moment of spraying, producing a chemically cured, spray-gun grade finish. A regular aerosol can contains pre-mixed paint that only air-dries and cannot match 2K durability, gloss or weather resistance.
Can I print my own brand logo on the cans?
Yes, we offer CMYK offset printing, but the printing MOQ should reach 7500pcs.
