The Olympus EU-ME2 Premier Plus is a dedicated endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) and endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS) processor used with compatible Olympus ultrasound endoscopes. It is the main ultrasound image-processing unit that creates and enhances the ultrasound images during procedures.
It is used mainly in:
Gastroenterology (EUS) – imaging and evaluating the pancreas, bile ducts, liver, lymph nodes, gastrointestinal wall layers, and nearby organs.
Pulmonology / Thoracic surgery (EBUS) – evaluating mediastinal lymph nodes and lung lesions, often to guide needle sampling.
High-quality ultrasound imaging in a compact processor design.
Improved B-mode imaging for better visualization of anatomy and tissue boundaries.
Tissue Harmonic Echo (THE) to improve resolution and reduce artifacts.
Contrast Harmonic EUS (CH-EUS) (where approved and used with contrast agents) to help characterize lesions and vascular patterns.
Elastography to assess relative tissue stiffness, which can help in lesion characterization.
Doppler functions such as color flow, power Doppler, H-Flow, and PW Doppler.
Compatibility with a range of Olympus EUS/EBUS scopes and ultrasound miniature probes.
Do not place the endoscope together with other instruments and avoid touching other parts with the insertion part.
Wait until the endoscope angle returns to the 0-degree state before pulling out.
Since the insertion part is long, please be careful when cleaning and storing it, and be sure to confirm that it is not stuck beforehand.
When sterilizing EVIS endoscopes with ethylene oxide, remove the waterproof cap; when sterilizing other endoscopes with ethylene oxide, put on the ETO cap.
Wait until the endoscope angle returns to the 0-degree state, then pull out from the trocar needle and trocar.
When adjusting the angle of the insertion part, the angle should not be smaller than the range indicated in the instruction manual.
Please keep the sheath as straight as possible during operation.
Hold the insert gently and handle it carefully when taking it out.
