CONNECRING ROD BEARING STRUCTURE:

A small number of small high-speed diesel connecting rod small-end bearings use needle bearings. On the cross-head connecting rod, the small-end bearing is a split sliding bearing, which is often manufactured separately from the shaft. The wear-resistant alloy is directly cast on the inner surface of the bearing. For lubriion. Because small-end bearings work under high pressure and sway conditions, their lubriion is difficult. In order to improve the reliability of lubriion, some models use a dedied oil pump for each cylinder to enhance lubriion. In order to improve working reliability, self-adjusting or platform connecting rod small-end bearings are often used.

The small bearing is the bearing with the diameter of the connecting rod. Because the connecting rod has a relatively small diameter, the bearing is also smaller. We call it small for short. In fact, the crankshaft of the engine uses a sliding friction structure, and the friction between the crankshaft and the bearing shell is directly sliding and rotating.
The key part of the large and small bearing is the contact surface. It is coated by a wear-resistant material. The coating on the large and small bearing is not a high hardness material but a material that is slightly scratched with a fingernail. The accuracy is almost 100% in contact with the crankshaft, and an engine remains so smooth and does not tremble without any trembling.
