>>Overview
Residual chlorine refers to chlorine existing in the forms of hypochlorous acid, hypochlorite ions, and dissolved elemental chlorine. After chlorine is introduced into water, a portion of the chlorine is consumed through reactions with bacteria, microorganisms, organic matter, and inorganic substances in the water, while the remaining portion is called residual chlorine, also known as free chlorine. Currently, chlorine-containing disinfectants are widely used in public spaces and households for disinfection. On one hand, sufficient disinfectant concentration must be maintained to ensure effective sterilization; on the other hand, elevated residual chlorine levels in wastewater discharged to urban sewage treatment plants may adversely affect normal operation of biological treatment units. Additionally, excessive residual chlorine could impact surface water, groundwater, and drinking water sources, potentially affecting ecological environments and potable water supplies. Measuring residual chlorine content and its forms in water to maintain appropriate levels is crucial for ensuring disinfection efficacy, environmental water quality, and drinking water safety.
The AG5863DA1 residual chlorine sensor employs a thin-film coated dual-electrode system, suitable for conventional water quality conditions with stable pH and free from surfactants. Application industries: Tap water, drinking water, mineral water, service water, and process water. The electrode outputs standard signals (4-20mA/RS485/0~±2V) that can be directly connected to secondary instruments, PLCs, RTUs, and other intelligent terminal devices.
>>Feature
▪ Utilizes a membrane method to accelerate response time and ensure stable signals.
▪ The electrode casing is constructed with POM and 316 stainless steel, capable of withstanding temperatures ranging from 0 to 45°C.
▪ The leads are made of pure copper, enabling direct remote transmission. Compared to copper-zinc alloy leads, they deliver more accurate and stable signal performance.
